A TACTILE PATH FOR THE CARDUCCI HOUSE MUSEUM

AN ACCESSIBLE MULTISENSORY PATHWAY AT CASTAGNETO CARDUCCI
A TACTILE PATH FOR THE CARDUCCI HOUSE MUSEUM

At the House Museum of Giosuè Carducci, in Castagneto Carducci, work was carried out that could combine the needs of an audio guide for all with a tactile path for blind and visually impaired people.

The solution, in close collaboration with the Italian Union of the Blind, Livorno section, was to create a tactile podcast, suitable for the enjoyment of everyone, including children, combined with a number of tools, namely some two-dimensional tactile tiles, tactile room sheets for the reproduction of the tapestries and furnishings, and a series of room cards in simplified language for the enjoyment of the Museum also by people with cognitive difficulties.
All materials have been made freely available on the special accessible platform designed and created by Mare Laboratory for Social Innovation.
